Disable social links

How to disable the social links in the top right corner? 

trying different variations in `_config.yaml` of the following setting to NULL or commenting out  didnt work

```yaml
social_links:
      github: rosmur
      twitter: yourtwitterhandle
      facebook: yourlinkedinprofile
```
