Tag version would be useful

It would be useful to have versioned SLDR data.
Using commit hash is the only option for versioning at the moment.

We've thought about this, but different files change at different times. The SLDR isn't really a coherent unit, it is a collection of independent files, for the most part. What are you looking for a version number to help you with, in the case of the SLDR?

• Tell you if a particular locale file has changed?
• Tell you if the overall structure and support has changed?
• Tell you if the LDML/SIL namespace DTD has changed?

If it is other than the first, I would be interested in your use case.
