Datasette-equivalent for JSON files

Is there a tool that gives CRUD + Search APIs for a local folder of JSON files - which could simulate a NoSQL or Document database? Probably a browser-compatible implementation of the WebDAV protocol over a local folder - with a search API added on?

This can be a convenient way to ship tiny webapps to users while they retain control of their data and can synchronize it across all their devices with Dropbox/GDrive/iCloud etc.
