Clear credentials empties entire scrobble cache, not just unsubmitted cache.

When you clear user credentials - in my case for Last.fm - the warning pop up says "This will also remove any unsubmitted scrobbles". Instead of doing just that, it also removed the entire backlog of past submitted scrobbles.
