pushed to master an initial version of vi support. still incomplete but you can try it now and let me know what's missing

@sinelaw I added the "vi_mode" plugin based on the code in the repo and then restarted fresh but no luck.

You just need to run the vi mode command from the commands palette

Still no luck. I have fresh installed at /opt/homebrew/fresh on my mac and I added a file in /opt/homebrew for the vi_mode.ts plugin there. When I run fresh and open the command palette, I don't get an option to enable vi mode.

you don't need to copy any file or do anything other than just install fresh, open command palette and write "vi mode". if it still doesn't appear check if you have a plugins/ from the your previous attempts? if yes, remove it (or run fresh from elsewhere)
