Error in Kali VM

I am using Mac OS with a kali linux VM, i installed fresh and the issue is for some reason once I click just delete it acts as if i clicked ctrl+del and deletes the whole word, if i click ctrl+del then it works as regular del and deletes just one character before the cursor, i checked the keybindings and they are set normaly and this issue is only for fresh, any other place in my VM delete works normal
