Feature Request: Add factory reset option from Web UI

The panel version works fine, but for remote access, especially when on ethernet, it would be would be useful to be able to perform a factory reset from within the Web UI since there might not always be easy/convenient access to the touch screen.

Resetting to factory settings on the web interface is considered a high-risk operation (as it will reset passwords, network configurations, etc.). Or, do you intend to use this function only to configure certain options that are otherwise only modifiable via the touchscreen?

I think it would be useful to reset everything from the GUI. Devices might be somewhere where they are hard to access but would still be accessible from a full reset (like in a server rack where they are hardwired).

For me personally, my parents will have this device at their house, and getting them to use the touchscreen would be much more difficult if I really needed a full reset rather than just using the GUI remotely. It will be hardwired POE, so it will always just come back up via DHCP.

Sure, if you're using wireless, that would create some problems since you'd need to reconfigure the device with that locally, and there should definitely be some warnings/confirmation dialog for it.

And for the same reason, it would be good to have all the options from the touchscreen settings also present in the web UI, like all the panel settings.

I agree this would be useful, but it has to be behind authentication to be safe.

And I agree it's risky. For example if your connection to the device was by Tailscale, presumably a factory reset would remove that connection. There should be some serious warnings in place.

I've never seen a GUI factory reset option not behind some form of authentication.

But these devices are also for the somewhat technically minded, so I think at some level, people would understand they could lose connectivity with a factory reset. Still good to have direct warnings.
