Description of your feature request

I would like SLADE to replace PNGout with a tool that's open source, thus making it easier to bundle.

The source code for these tools is not public. Don't bother asking.

Technically Slade already has that, it's the typically inferior pngcrush. That said, zopflipng should probably be added to the list of tools since I believe that in most cases beats pngout. (Since finding the optimal encoding is not a solved problem, there are still cases where one of the other tools finds a better solution.)

Edit: Or I guess oxipng which has an option to use zopfli.

ECT is likely the best all around, but OxiPNG is quite good and there's no 1:1 replacement since all the PNG optimizer programs perform differently and can improve on each other depending on the file. You can run both through a round of standard deflate to closer match what PNGOut does and then through zopfli mode for further improvements.
