Animals eat from the storage, but they are not satisfied and the food is not wasted.

I've encountered an issue where animals are endlessly eating food, but they're never satisfied. Horses try to eat dried meat from the storage, but neither the meat is consumed nor their hunger satisfied.
This has happened in the previous five versions and possibly earlier.

My current version is 2025.10.11 11:04:12

There was also an issue with endless cleaning: a colonist would try to clean a single cage, but it wouldn't clean. This would continue until they passed out.

Firstly, what is your animals food policy, is jerky allowed? And what about ingredient type that jerky may contain? have you checked the extra filter options too? I just tested this and they eat from storage fine.

Secondly, the dirt thing was semi-addressed a while back, its because of bugged dirt. It becomes negative dirt, if you go into debug options in development mode, youll see this button. "Clear Negative Dirt".

We require a Hugslib log (green button on error log, untick recommended, copy to clipboard), to get a better idea of whats happening in your game. But as i cant recreate it, it means there is something breaking your game specifically.

The food policy is "Luxurious" (the default one? I don't remember setting it myself), including jerky.

The ingredients for jerky are anything, including humanoid flesh.

What are the filtering parameters and how do I check them?

I'll try to send a save file if this happens again. Usually, the horse eats unsuccessfully until it faints. It seems this buggy behavior is tied to specific food stacks.

Saving is unlikely to help, because if you exit to the main menu and load again, the horse successfully eats the food from the stack that it unsuccessfully tried to eat before loading.

I'm attaching a save file. There are log files in the food storage, and if you watch them, the bug will be reproduced. This happens to me often.
