Thanks for sharing about Skyfield's use in this meteorological project! I have only pulled public data from a specific weather station once, when I wanted to build temperature graphs for Phantom Ranch at the bottom of the Grand Canyon, to help me plan hikes — but it was so helpful that an amateur (a ranger, is my guess?) had positioned a station there. It's impressive to click on the "Map" and see how many WeeWX sites are installed! |

WeeWX is an open-source weather software to save, process and publish meteorological measurements.
It used to use PyEphem for astronomical calculations. Now there was time to have a look at PyEphem's successor Skyfield, which resulted in two extension modules, which will become available with the coming WeeWX version 5.2:
In this way, users will be able benefit from the extended possibilities of Skyfield.
