When pasting logs, etc, it is a good practice to surround the text with a code block marker so the web browser doesn't try to render some combinations as emoji. That being said, it looks like the command line for squeezelite is misconfigured: But the system shouldn't crash over a misconfigured option. I'll see if I can have a closer look. |

I did a bit more investigation. What bothers me is that that there's no resampling option in your build, which causes the bluetooth output to fail Squeezelite. Of course, this shouldn't cause a boot loop, but that's a different issue. Looking at your logs (from a PC this time with a larger screen), I noticed that you are running a 32 bits version that was meant for SqueezeAmp. Is that intended? I was under the impression that you had a generic Wrover board, for which the I2S build is more appropriate. SqueezeAmp builds have some hardware specific initialization done on the amplifier chip that would possibly cause some problems on a different hardware platform. Also, regarding the 32 bits build. Please try 16 bits. We strongly advise against 32 bits as it pushes the poor ESP32 to its limits and would likely not even support resampling for bluetooth. Let me know how that goes. |

you are welcome! I would advise buying an i2s DAC. One thing we have always aimed for is to allow for the ESP32 to sync with other players and that works great except for bluetooth which is quite demanding. Alternatively, there are a number of boards pre-soldered if you don't want to mess with a soldering iron. |

yes now i have it working, the plan is to build a 4ch smart mixer, with stand alone (satellite) modules. one being the Bluetooth option. Do you advise an i2s to buy, i dont mind getting the iron out. |

It all depends on how sensitive you are to audio quality. I have a few players built around DAC similar to this: They are definitely not high fidelity, but they do the job. Some users have built players with much higher end i2s DAC as well. If spdif is an option for you, that works fine as well. I have several squeezeamp, which was a related project that Philippe was driving, and I'm using spdif on at least 2 of them. |
