public- folder in root when slides in respective subfolders

Hi there,
I have multiple slides.md- files, and for organization purposes, I put them into a respective folder, slides.
When I run npx slidev slides/my-slides.md the images from the public- folder are broken. I figured out that you need to put the public- folder in the same as the slides.
I want to keep the public in the root as many slides point to it.
How can I configure that? I believe it has to do something with Vite, right?

The solution is to create a vite.config.ts next to the slides.md:

    publicDir: '../public'
