More, why is are we putting a underscore "_" with a variable? is it a rule of JS?

@heavidevi Here Patrick has made it a private variable and that's why he uses the convention of giving underscore _ before a variable name. And because it is private, he created a method to return it.

@krakxn It is a common convention for all languages (almost that I know) to give _ before private variables, methods, and classes. But for the solidity function argument neither I am sure nor it is mentioned in the styles guides of solidity.

@krakxn That's why I always check docs for anything like this. As the first answer said (above link) that we use it to distinguish between global variable and function argument. But in other languages for those scenarios we use this keyword. I have not checked that with solidity.
