Why transition animation doesn't work when re-render due to a change props(state works fine)

I am trying to make a View that change its own height with the props from the parent.
Here's the snack

Transitioning.View's transition works fine when the Viewcomponent height is calculated with state, but doesn't work out well with props.

This issue is making me to use derived state from props which changes.

And also deriving states from props is a anti-pattern.

Why it has to be derived states to make Transition work?
