JIRA_SSL_Verify = False Set Up Fails, can somebody help?

Hey Guys,

tried setting up the Jira MCP Client for my DC Jira Server but I always get an SSL error even though I set JIRA_SSL_VERIFY to false in my MCP config.

ERROR - mcp-jira - Error searching issues with JQL 'assignee = currentUser()': HTTPSConnectionPool(host='hosting-jira-prelive.server.lan', port=443): Max retries exceeded with url: /rest/api/2/search?startAt=0&maxResults=15&fields=summary%2Cdescription%2Cstatus%2Cassignee%2Creporter%2Clabels%2Cpriority%2Ccreated%2Cupdated%2Cissuetype&jql=assignee+%3D+currentUser%28%29 (Caused by SSLError(SSLCertVerificationError(1, '[SSL: CERTIFICATE_VERIFY_FAILED] certificate verify failed: self-signed certificate in certificate chain (_ssl.c:1017)')))

I also tried the test_with_real_data.sh script, which works and successfully retrieves an example issue if I set the env variable JIRA_SSL_VERIFY=false. If I set it to true, I get the same error as above.

Has somebody encountered a similar problem? Is the MCP not correctly using my env variable to set JIRA_SSL_VERIFY to false?:(

Hi, @rhaiber-ionos. sorry for this inconvenience. Currently, this is not working on Docker setup (issue #327). Would you set up mcp-atlassian with uvx until we fix this issue?
