Is there any impact in performance?

As per the instructions given in the install process, it will call HTTP endpoint of Jaeger, Zipkin etc. with context details. My concern is will it slow down app performance while it calls those endpoints? Also what happens if the HTTP request fails?

I'm not sure how it is implemented or works, so just need knowledge here.
