The following exception is thrown when assigning roles ($user->assignRole($role);) or permissions ( $user->givePermissionTo($permissions);) to user model.

Actual model class is a child model (admin or student) of user model, so $class === $model; fails in getConfigGuards() as $model is User and $class is Admin

After adding protected $guard_name = "web"; to child class (Admin), seeding runs smoothly without the exception that occurred earlier.

solution: add protected $guard_name = "web"; to child class if you're using calebporzio/parental for multi auth with fortify

In my scenario I need that User Model can be associate with roles for multiple guards, to accomplish that I just define $guard_name on Model as array with all guard_names that can this can be associated.

Class User extends UserModel
{

// ...

protected array $guard_name = ['api', 'web'];

// ...

}

With that, I can assign model to multiple guards.
