Hi, I’m Márcio Bernardes, founder of Instituto Nova Alvorada, a nonprofit platform created to promote social reintegration and reduce recidivism in Brazil. Unfortunately, neglect from both the government and private sector often forces thousands of formerly incarcerated individuals back into crime. Studies show that over 30% of people released from prison return within a few years, often due to a lack of job opportunities, psychosocial support, and vocational training.

At Instituto Nova Alvorada, we connect these individuals to professional development resources, psychosocial assistance, and meaningful employment pathways by partnering with companies, educators, and volunteers. Through our gamified point system, participants gain access to better opportunities as they complete courses, attend support sessions, and demonstrate personal growth. We believe dignity is born of effort, and we guide each person toward a fresh start built on development and real opportunity.
