For MCP anniversary, the new spec is out https://modelcontextprotocol.io/specification/draft/basic/authorization#client-registration-approaches

With it, CIMD is preferred over DCR.

Would it be possible for this super repo to support CIMD as well?

So the change is mainly on the auth server? Not on the MCP server?

Correct. And the client, of course. This scheme is for allowing clients to obtain tokens ; the MCP Server just receives tokens and does not care how exactly they were issued.

We are working with a company which supports a client in which a test version already supports CIMB.

Would it be possible to have some change, or a branch in <artifactId>mcp-authorization-server</artifactId> which supports CIMD on the auth server side?

Since there is no change needed in MCP server side, it would be great to be able to run with the 3.
