[nyck33]

I tried mvn jetty:run but could not as it gave me the following error trace:

In Eclipse , Debug as -> Debug Configuration -> Maven Build , select the base directory and goals should be jetty:run and click on Debug.

I had the same problem. I was running Java 11 on the command-line. I changed JAVA_HOME and PATH to Java 8 and it worked.
