Hibernate StatelessSession Transaction issue

Environment:

• Java 21
• Spring 7.0.0-M8
• Hibernate 7.1.3

Description

In Spring 7, Hibernate StatelessSession participate into the transaction which fills the blank when integrating Jakarta Data/Hibernate and Spring.

To test it, I have updated my Jakarta Data example to use Spring 7/Hibernate 7.1 stack.

When compiling the project, it generated the implelementation class like this.

When running the tests, I got the exception:

Caused by: org.hibernate.HibernateException: Could not obtain 
transaction-synchronized Session for current thread

As normal, I have configured Hibernate LocalSessionFactoryBean and HibernateTransactionManager in the JakartaDataConfig.

This is simply missing @Transactional for findAll and co. Adding a type-level @Transactional annotation makes the test setup go as far as expected, eventually failing in testSaveAll but apparently for unrelated reasons.

I have tried to add a global class level tranactional to make it working, thanks.

Yes, just like regular SessionFactory#currentSession() access in Hibernate, this requires a transaction-managed Session (or technically, running against a thread-bound Session which could theoretically also come from an OpenEntityManagerInViewFilter or the like). There is no JPA-style fallback option if that's what you're wondering; we're following Hibernate's conventions instead.
