Predheat Config Questions

I have a heatpump and I am currently configuring predheat but have a couple of questions?

1. Can the 'heating_energy' parameter handle data that is cumulative per day instead of a live number? My heatpump outputs whats been used so far today, this week or this month.
2. What is the purpose of 'heating_energy_scaling'? I am assuming as I have a sensore on my heatpump I can set that to 1.0 as I know its accurate?
3. What is the function of the 'heating_active' parameter? I cant find this in the documentation. What data is it expecting?
