Clarification on customization for insiders

Hi @squidfunk,

First of all: thanks for this amazing project. I need a bit of guidance customizing my theme.

I started off with "regular" mkdocs-material installed via pip and created my own overrides folder with a custom main.html. The key in the mkdocs.yml was custom_dir: overrides. All good.

Next, I switched to insiders to support the project. Afaict, I need to locally install mkdocs-material-insiders via git. Now, that requires me to change custom_dir to the theme location, namely mkdocs-material-insiders/material, previously taken by my custom overrides folder.

The question is: where exactly do I put my custom overrides/main.html now or how can I link to it? I find the docs don't discuss this point, but hopefully I'm missing something. I can see that mkdocs-material-insiders/material has an overrides folder, too, but that's autogenerated and should not be touched. I know I could develop the theme, but that's an added layer in complexity that I want to avoid (plus I don't want to risk diverging from upstream changes in insiders). I'd rather keep the previous workflow of just adding a few html files in an extra folder. I'm sure I'm just "holding it wrong", so any pointers are much appreciated.
