tags 'pill' not rendering

I have tags setup but the oval/"pill" around the tag name is not rendering so the tags just look like a run on of words instead of individual tags. Not sure if I missed a step, if this is a bug, or if there are additional formatting controls that I can implement.

Please provide more information, i.e., are you using the built-in tags plugin? Also, which versions are you using + provide the exact Markup that reproduces the error.

I was assuming I was using the built in plugin for tags, but I installed the above mkdocs-plugin-tags==1.02 because when I tried to add -tags to the plugins section of the .yml it said that the tags plugin was not installed.

The built-in tags plugin is currently only available as part of the Insiders build. The plugin you mentioned is not natively supported, so you will need to add your own CSS styles for tags.

The tags plugin is not insider only anymore, right?

Because I am having a similar issue: The tags are rendered in search results, but not on the page itself.

No, it's now available to the community edition (except those features marked with Insiders like tag icons). Did you use theme extension, i.e. do you have custom overrides in place? If so, make sure that you adjust the templates to include the new markup.

Indeed, the project I was working on had custom overrides in place. I clean up those and now I have the "pills" 👍
