How to get abbreviations to also work inside code blocks?

I find abbreviations very useful but I observed that they do not work inside code blocks. Is there any way to enable them there too?

Hi @ssbarnea,
unlikely to work, as the abbreviations extensions does only a simple regex look up inside of the text and the code blocks are managed by a different extension entirely like the Highlight extension.

So there would have to be a custom "middleware" or hack to pass the abbreviations to the code block generator and for the code block generator to handle them.
