SPLIT 7.2 to split 2

Hello, my thesis is the deployment of a 5G network with OpenRAN architecture and integration of xAPPs KPI monitoring and autonomous RC.
Split 8 doesn't require the use of an RU but it doesn't support xAPP development, split 7 on the other hand supports xAPP development but requires an RU, i searched and found out that the only split that supports xAPPs without requiring an RU is split 2 .
My question is , how do i customize split 7 to turn it to split 2 , or does split 2 architecture already exist

Not sure if I understand correctly. But I think the split type and integration of xApps is independent.
