Receive IQ samples when there is no UE attached using O-RAN 7.2 split RU

Hello,

I have an ORAN 7.2 Benetel RAN650/VVDN MPRU. I can only receive IQ samples from the DU when a UE is attached and sends uplink traffic.

Would it be possible to receive IQ samples (either in time or frequency domain) even when an UE is not attached to the RU?

I am asking this, because my end goal is to extract IQ samples and/or channel estimation data from more than one gNBs.

To achieve this behavior activate allow_request_on_empty_uplink_slot in the expert_phy config section.

How this is used in the code? I only see this variable getting initialized but is not used any where in the code ?
