using ptl4l as grandmaster #617
-
Hi everyone, I am struggling to get a ptp4l lock between my PC and the RU. I'm using the default.cfg configuration provided from srsRANProject/build/configs/ but I am inferring from the guides that it's intended for use with a switch in the middle that (I presume) acts as the grandmaster. The engineers from the company that made the RU are helpful, and are telling me that my ptp4l configuration/behavior is wrong and should be acting far differently. I know this topic is a bit out of scope for the srsRAN project but I've really struggled to find comprehensive guides or good information about ptp4l anywhere else. All I get are either very high-level information (i.e. what IEEE-1588 is) or very low-level information (i.e. what the config options do). I was wondering if there was a good example cfg for acting as a grandmaster, or if someone in this community had some great pointers, or could point me at better ptp4l resources. Thanks a ton! |

This is resolved; I was eventually able to create a correct .cfg file that works as a grandmaster. It is uploaded here and I will also open a PR to add it to the sample configs. |
