Timings Synchronization

Hi all,
I am new to this project and trying to understand the code and now struggling communicating with RU on time. When I am using ./gnb command without making any changes in the code I am getting all the packets on time. But when I make change in file lib/ofh/timings/realtime_timing_worker.cpp and change the symbol duration, I am not getting the packets on time and many packets are getting missed. I want to know how timings are synchronized in the code and what is the effect of changing symbol_duration and timings Synchronization.
