The Henry Ford Museum & Greenfield Village is a must-see while in Southeast Michigan. It has a special place in Taylor's heart (she and her Mimi worked there for multiple years during her adolescence) and is "America's Greatest History Attraction". Visit here for their lovely Christmas decorations and awesome artifacts, including the Lincoln rocking chair, the Rosa Parks' bus, and the Kennedy Limousine. Scott reccomends paying a visit to the unforgettable Oscar Mayer Weinermobile as well 😄

Don't forget Detroit's music legacy — it's the hometown of Aretha Franklin, Diana Ross and Madonna. The Motown Historical Museum, near Detroit's downtown, is where Berry Gordy Jr. built Motown's powerful roster, which at its peak included Diana Ross and the Supremes, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye and the Jackson 5. There, you'll see Motown's first recording studio, known as Studio A, and one of Michael Jackson's hats.

From noon to 3pm on Friday you can rent skates and enjoy some spins around the ice at Trenton's Kennedy Ice Arena. It's the perfect winter activity and blends Taylor's figure skating glory days with Scott's love of Team Canada hockey. He may never let her forget about the results of the Vancouver Winter Olympics USA vs. Canada final hockey game.

<h4>Outdoor Ice-skating at Campus Martius Park</h4>

<p>
Campus Martius Park is a re-established park in Downtown Detroit. You can enjoy outdoor ice-skating here while taking in the sites of the city. The park is located at the intersection of Woodward Avenue and Michigan Avenue, four blocks south of Grand Circus Park. The original park covered several acres and was a major gathering area for citizens. The park was lost in the 1900s as the city's downtown was reconfigured to accommodate increased vehicular traffic. The new Campus Martius Park was dedicated November 19, 2004 and includes two performance stages and sculptures.

Zorba's is a Vaught family favorite - Taylor has fond memories of playing Ms. Pac-Man there while waiting for her chili fries in her pre-veggie days with her dad. Try their Zorba's Special coney dog if you're hungry and want to try some authentic Detroit cuisine while you're in town.

Mexicantown is a community in Southwest Detroit and is home to many tasty Mexican restaurants including Xochimilco's. The Mexicantown bakery has delicious pastries that are on point if you're looking for a sweet treat. Mexicantown is also home to Jack White of the White Stripes who got their start in Detroit. Oh ya, we're that cool.

I bet you didn't know Detroit had their own style of pizza. Buddy's is the home of Detroit's original Sicilian-style square pizza and it is dang tasty. They have slices named after pretty much every point of pride from the great state of Michigan, including a pizza for each of the Great Lakes.

This is a bit of a hike from Trenton, but the food at this delicatessen in Ann Arbor is to die for. Scott & Taylor stopped here three times in one week during their recent Michigan camping adventure. Their favorites were the black magic brownie, cold brew coffee known as the "velvet hammer", and #18 Georgia Reuben on Jewish rye bread.

Southeast Michigan is home to one of the largest, oldest, and most diverse Arab American communities in the U.S. That means lots and lots of tasty food in the area including some of the world's best baklava. Pulled straight from the website of this delicious pastry shop - " In the old city of Nablus, Palestine, Muhi-Eldeen Masri opened a small pastry shop in the heart of the old city, in 1902. Today the heritage and tradition established years ago carries on at Masri Sweets in Dearborn, Mi. Khader Masri, son of Muhi-eldeen Masri and his son Khaldon carry on the name and success of the family. All pastries are made fresh daily using Turkish pistachios, Jordan walnuts, Brazillian cashews, and clarified butter. All ingredients are natural, no preservatives are added."

<h2>a bit about us<br></h2>
<p>Taylor & Scott met in 2009 while both were working as interns for PSI. Since their first interaction was over Skype (Taylor was living in DC and Scott was in Bangkok) they can technically say that they met online.</p>
<p> Work eventually brought Scott to DC where Taylor proceeded to flirt with him endlessly from her cubicle. Years of obliviousness, horrible accents and friendship blossomed into love after a day of paddleboarding and Mad Max watching in 2015.
<p>At that point the real love story began as Scott fell head over heels for Dolly (originally Taylor’s dog, now their 11-lbs. Chihuahua mix).</p>
<p> Taylor loves that Scott is adventurous and pushes her to try new things even when she’s feeling trepidatious. Scott loves Taylor’s thoughtfulness, organization, and willingness to put up with his crazy and constant “teasing”. Both Taylor & Scott are very happy to be celebrating this special occasion with you.</p>
