Systematic way to retrieve model YAML/MD files besides https Github download

Github rate limits frontend from just requesting them as raw files, unfortunately, e.g.:

Result, rate blocked in incognito mode:

We can add an API to pass those files as downloads to the frontend and the code should stay the same otherwise on the frontend.
