Description

When I open Bolt (bolt.new) the Projects view shows “No projects” even though I have two existing Collections in the same workspace. One collection is named “Union Pathways Coach Dashboard”. I expect projects to be listed (or an obvious control to convert/link collections into projects) but the Projects list is empty.

Project / collection link (if helpful):
https://bolt.new/workspace/]](https://sb1bnznxdlr-ccw0--5173--cf284e50.local-corp.webcontainer.io/)

Steps to Reproduce

Sign in to Bolt at https://bolt.new with Gmail account and Github login.

In the top-left, open the Workspace / Organization selector and ensure [Workspace name] is selected (this is the workspace that contains my collections).

From the left sidebar, click Projects (or Home → Projects).

Observe the main area which says “No projects” or “You have no projects”.

In the left sidebar, click Collections and confirm that two collections are present (including Union Pathways Coach Dashboard).

Observed: Projects view shows “No projects” even though the Collections list shows the two collections for the same workspace. There’s no obvious UI control to convert/link the collection to a project, and creating a new project does not surface the existing collection.

I tried: switching the workspace, signing out and back in, and checking Settings → Teams for membership. The collections remain visible but Projects stays empty.

Expected Behavior

When signed into the workspace that contains collections, the Projects view should list existing projects. If collections exist but no projects are defined, the UI should either:

Allow importing/linking an existing collection into a new project, or

Provide a clear explanation of the difference between Collections and Projects, and a UX path to convert or connect collections to a Project.

Specifically, I expected to see either:

My project listed (e.g., Union Pathways Coach) which contains the Union Pathways Coach Dashboard collection, or

A visible “Import collection” or “Add collection to project” action from the Projects screen.

Screenshots/Screencast

(attach these when you submit)

Optional: a short screencast showing switching the workspace and clicking Projects → Collections.

Additional Context/Questions

Environment / Browser: [e.g. Chrome 118.0.5993 on Windows 11]

Workspace: [Workspace name] (please ensure I’m a member)

Account: [[email protected]]

Timestamp: [2025-11-16 21:24 UTC]

Severity: Blocking (I can’t access or organize my project dashboard, workflow blocked)

Steps I tried: Signed out/in, switched workspace, checked Settings → Teams, attempted to create a new Project via the Projects page (it did not allow linking/importing an existing collection).

Helpful debug info I can attach on request:

Network request(s) for Projects API (DevTools → Network → filter XHR/Fetch) showing the request URL and response body when opening Projects. Please let me know if you need that and I’ll attach the response.

Console log (DevTools Console) after the Projects screen loads.

A small export of the collection metadata (IDs) if you need to check server-side linking.

Possible cause hint: This may be a UI/workspace scoping bug where Collections are shown but Projects list is drawn from a different workspace or requires a different permission. Alternatively, the project import/creation UX may be missing, so users can’t convert or link an existing collection to a Project.
