(macOS 26) `List` items appear selected for one frame, then appear deselected until the window loses focus

On macOS 26, when a List item is clicked, it appears selected for exactly one frame, then appears deselected (but is still selected as far as @State is concerned) until the window loses focus. This doesn't seem to happen on macOS 15.
