Multiple Monitors - digitizer isn't confined to MP22 monitor

I noticed on Xorg in Gnome that when I have 2 monitors that the MP22 tablet's digitizer isn't mapped to the device but spans both monitors, making the cursor something like 600 pixels off the location of the pen.

My configuration is a M43-C1 4k 43" Screen and the 22" MP Graphics Tablet on Arch Linux.

Is there any other information that would assist, I would appreciate any fixes you can do thanks 👍

I also use multiple monitors and experience the same problem. You can manually correct it by doing xinput --list to see the input name, for me it currently shows up as "Monoprice 22 Pen (0)" but it used to be just "Monoprice 22," I think the driver defines this name. Once you have the proper input name, you can do this: xinput --map-to-output 'Monoprice 22 Pen (0)' HDMI-0 where HDMI-0 is the name for the monitor (as listed by xrandr). Hope that information helps!

It would be cool if the driver could do this for us, not sure if there is a reasonable way to automate it though since it would need to figure out the proper handle to the monitor...

Thank you for sharing your workaround, the strange thing was that the issue was temporary. I think it related to switching resolutions down from 4k to 1080p on the secondary monitor.

Also, I noticed that when restarting the computer the geometry was correct on Gnome Shell 3.22 start, so so far I haven't had to write a custom SH script and bind it to the keyboard to run when the issue comes up.

I had a similar problem on my now, (with the Parblo Coast 22) three monitor set up. As well as the workaround described above, there is a useful application called PTXConf, which simplifies configuration of your monitors allowing you to easily dedicate the pen monitor as the defined tablet screen. You can get it byt following the directions here:

The only slight snag with the application is that it doesn't start at bootup every time, so it needs to be added as a startup application. On Ubuntu MATE you can do that using the directions in the attached image here

In the meantime I was able to work around the issue with a Hotkey and Shell Script every time something happened

~/Scripts/monoprice_digitizer_reset.sh

#!/bin/sh
xinput --map-to-output 'Monoprice 22 Pen (0)' DVI-I-1

The shortcut I added to Gnome Control Center -> Keyboards is:

/home/electricprism/monoprice_digitizer_reset.sh

Of course I also have the script executable otherwise It wouldn't work
