API Support for OpenUtau

Hello,

I would like to develop an API for Openutau, to be able to add/remove notes automatically, change the pitch, the tempo and vibrato through external scripts.

Do you think that this is doable? And if yes are there any guidelines I should follow to ensure that the project could benefit from my contribution?

Moreover, are there any other features that you would like to be added to this API?

This is theoretically possible, but currently we just make features buildin with OpenUtau because there isn't strong need for such a plugin system. Developing an API is hard because we will have to keep its compatibility in future OpenUtau updates.
Also what's your specific usage scenario?

I am currently building a singing robot for people with Alzheimer, as part of my PhD project.

My specific use case is that I want them to change the pitch and tempo and some voice features for the voice of the robot very quickly using just a few buttons/sliders on a tablet interface. The song would be chosen in advance.
In the best case scenario I would also like for them to be able to change the utau singer with a button.

I was thinking of having an API to interface my tablet app with Openutau, but I would also like for it to be useful for other projects if some people want such an API.

I can try to maintain it through the few next versions if you want for example.

This is great! But I think a full UI will be way too complicated for people with Dementia. Anything more than 3 buttons that do very specific actions will be too much I think.

Moreover I do need to interface everything with a robot at the end.
