Status of v2 and v3?

Much appreciated if anyone can help straighten out a few things for me ...

I was looking for a solution to getting types from the server without having to parse literals and found this issue:

So I checked the open PR for v2.0:

Two questions appear:

1. Is v2.0 adequate for this PR? It seems the master package is already at v3+? Great if you can shine some light here.
2. Does the PR improve the state of properly casted literals?

If it doesn't, is it possible to hook into the server and extend with special parsing capabilities?

Something that responds to something like: 'application/sparql-results+typed-json'?
