Installation issues

Hi,
Unfortunately my installation was riddled with issues from the word Go.
While installing with the CLI saw the following

 - Downloading statamic/cms (dist)
    The following exception probably indicates you have misconfigured DNS resolver(s)

In CurlDownloader.php line 371:

  curl error 28 while downloading https://github.com/statamic/cms/releases/download/v4.58.3/dist.tar.gz: Resolving timed out after 10013 milliseconds

  Once the install process is complete, please run php please install:eloquent-driver to finish setting up the database.

But it was not installed properly. When I ignored the error and just did php please install:eloquent-driver, it again threw the same error as above...

Thereafter, I ran composer update hoping to see Statamic up and running... which showed

ERROR Can't locate path: <C:\xampp\htdocs\...\my-portal\vendor\statamic\cms\src\Providers/../../resources/dist-frontend>.

I then created a dist-frontend folder inside resources and copied all the files from the Providers folder into this.

Thereafter I tried php please install:eloquent-driver again and got the following error:

There are no commands defined in the "install" namespace

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

This is likely the cause of all your issues.

For some reason, it looks like it's trying to install Statamic 4, instead of 5. What's the output of composer global show statamic/cli?

I was able to get it up and running after the statamic upgrade (as it indeed had v4; I am still not sure what was the problem but I believe updating Composer) fixed something in the background.

Maybe you had a dependency conflict with Statamic 5. Anyways, glad you managed to get it sorted! 🎉

Upgrading to v5 solved it.
