Proposal

I would like to save svo2 files through the GStreamer pipeline. Similar to how the "filesink" GStreamer element functions.

Use-Case

I use GStreamer for video recording with other cameras I use. I can have a much more unified pipeline if the ZED GStreamer pipeline could function similarly.

Here is some additional detail on how I want this to ideally work so I can best integrate it with my setup.

Current GStreamer command:

"nvarguscamerasrc sensor-id={} ! tee name=t ! OTHER-STUFF ! t. ! queue ! valve name=valve drop=False ! nvv4l2h265enc preset-level=1 maxperf-enable=True name=encoder ! h265parse ! qtmux name=mux ! filesink name=filesink location={}"

Obviously I won't need muxes and what not so I'm assuming what my GStreamer command would look like if some form of SVO file sink exists:
"zedsrc ! tee name=t ! OTHER-STUFF ! t. ! queue ! valve name=valve drop=False ! zedsvosink name=zedsvosink location={}"

Then from within my python3 I have it setup so I can start & stop the recording by disabling certain nodes and reenabling them with new parameters. So I would like this to work with the "zedsvosink" as well.

Example:

It's not possible to create an svo_sink element.
The SVO recording uses the camera object created in the zedsrc or zedxonesrc element; the object cannot be shared with other processes.
The only solution is to add a parameter to the zedsrc and zedxonesrc elements to set the recording file path and automatically start the recording when this parameter is not an empty string.

Could parameters be added to the zedsrc / zedxonesrc elements to allow enabling and disabling the recording while also allowing changing the recording file path?

A solution like that would work for my use case as well.

No, it's not possible because parameters are not dynamic. You can only start the recording as soon as the camera is open and stop it when it's closed
