parallax.variableName.hide ()

I am trying to do a custom variable depending on the url to have the object name be flexible and put into a variable. So parallax.variableName.hide () can be a custom string to what ever it is. Is this possible?

I keep getting this error ... "Uncaught TypeError: Cannot call method 'hide' of undefined "

How can I fix this?
