Guidance on Reimplementing Design on ZCU208 – Netlayer and Netlayer Switch IPs

Hi,

I’d like to reimplement this design on the ZCU208 board. From my understanding, the Netlayer and NetlayerSwitch IPs were originally generated from another project that does not support RFSoC boards. Could you provide some pointers on how these IPs were generated and any necessary modifications to adapt them for the ZCU208? At least I would appreciate insights of how the ips were. generated for rfsoc4x2.

Any guidance or relevant references would be greatly appreciated!

The Netlayer does indeed come from xup_vitis_network_example which doesn't officially support RFSoC chips. We use git patches to add support for them.

Considering RFSoC4x2 and ZCU208 share the same RFSoC device, you should be able to clone this repo and run make patch followed by make build_ip. The IPs will be generated to rfsoc_qsfp_offload/boards/ip_repo/xup_vitis_network_example.

The ZCU208 has 4x SFP28 ports instead of QSFP28 so you will probably need to change the CMAC configuration. Jennys example should help with that:
