Failed to resolve configuration file: "@cspell/cspell-bundled-dicts"

I'm afraid an overzealous clean up borked my install of the spell checker. I keep getting multiple messages of the following kind:

Configuration Loader Error: Failed to resolve configuration file: "@cspell/cspell-bundled-dicts"
referenced from "/<somewhere>/<in_the>/<workspace>/.vscode.configs.import.cspell.config.json"

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the extensions and its dependents, but that hasn't helped.

Any suggestions on how to debug this issue?

@averaart,

The path ".vscode.configs.import.cspell.config.json" doesn't ring a bell.

VSCode cheats a bit when re-installing extensions. If it thinks it has already downloaded it, it won't do it again.

Please try deleting all streetsidesoftware.code-spell* extensions and reinstall them. They are generally fount at ~/.vscode/extensions:
