Material Clone?

How can I clone materials onto another model? I tried using

                var pass = new MaterialPass();
                material.Passes.Add(pass);

                pass.Parameters.Set(MaterialKeys.DiffuseValue, color);
                pass.Parameters.Set(MaterialKeys.EmissiveValue, color);
                pass.Parameters.Set(MaterialKeys.EmissiveIntensity, emissiveIntensity);

The material of the object will turn black

By "cloning", do you mean like taking a material from one model and pasting it onto another model or loading a material onto a model?
If it is any of the two, you need to set the material through the model component of the entity. See below:
