Description

We're using puppeteer with a short-lived docker container to generate SVG images as part of an automated workflow. Slightly annoyingly this touches the lastModifiedDate field in workspace.json, which is the only change which then makes the repo dirty.

It seems that lastModifiedDate should not change if nothing else has changed.

All of this assumes that you're using the Structurizr DSL...

Structurizr Lite is designed as a way to author workspaces, so each time you load the diagram page, Structurizr Lite parses the DSL to create the JSON workspace, which in turn bumps the last modified date of the workspace.

It seems that lastModifiedDate should not change if nothing else has changed.

This isn't as straightforward as you might imagine unfortunately, given that the DSL could include scripts, load remote content, etc.

Some options/workarounds:

1. If you'd like to retain the last modified date on the diagrams, but not have them change:

   1. Don't provide Lite with the workspace.dsl file when generating your diagrams via Puppeteer.
   2. Publish the workspace to an on-premises installation, and generate your diagrams via Puppeteer from that.

2. If you want to hide the last modified date instead:

   1. Add a viewset/view property named structurizr.metadata with value of false.
