Connections to group to avoid overlapping arrows

I find the arrow rendering a bit painful. Whenever you have a "5 to n" style relationship (e.g. a fan out / in) the arrows get quite ugly. Grouping these systems and then saying "X connects to group(a,b,c,d,e)" would be nice

I know group edges were discussed before but ultimately, wouldn't it be up to the user to decide to use it? The previous argument against it was "ambiguity" but then arrows are also ambiguous. What direction? What style? It's not a fixed rule.
