After doing some more tests i come to conclusion that from the moment you see the pdf on the screen and then close it immediately it take sometimes 10 seconds before it executes the next statement, when i leave the pdf a few seconds open on the screen and then close it the next statement will be executed almost immediately ! |

Acrobat, Okular & other readers like SumatraPDF in a step by step case like this is supposed to be TSR (terminate and stay resident) however that is how Adobe Acrobat functions for Printing and Presentations and is criticised for being constantly visible when the abuser wants "silent running". Hi, i use SumatraPdf in a python program to display or print a pdf. When using the next commands :
command = ["SumatraPDF.exe", "-presentation", "-new-window", "-exit-when-done", pdf_file]
subprocess.run(command, check=True)
the pdf is displayed on the screen but when i press the close key(X) or ESC-key the pdf disappear from the screen but it takes sometimes 5 to 15 seconds before my next python statement will be executed, this does not happen when i print the pdf.
Is there a solution to solve this problem ?
