Return Code always 0

Hi Sunit 
if the connecton string is wrong or something else get wrong , i get info about a ERROR only in the log, the UNIX return code is 0

Is it possible to return in case of error -1 or not 0

I try to catch the error , but because of returning always 0 there is no error ?
