Accessing external storage

Hi, thanks for a great library.
I was wondering if there is a way to access external storage. The reason is I have a DLNA source which shows as "Storage", but I can't see how to access or select it programmatically.
Also on a similar point how is Live TV selected? As you may know these options are from the Input selector menu.
Am I missing this somewhere or is it that the library does not currently support this.
