Unable to import a ts file in playwright tests - Error: Cannot find module

I'm using sveltekit typescript project. While importing a file in

import { expect, test } from '@playwright/test';
import { A } from './common/a';
test('index page has expected h1', async ({ page }) => {
  const a = new A();
  await page.goto('/');
  await expect(page).toHaveTitle('Some Title');
});

I'm facing the following error.

Error: Cannot find module '/tests/component/a' imported from 'tests/test.ts'
