Using "lame" as synonym for uncool is an example of ableist language. It can come across as offensive, especially to people in disability communities. It would be nice to use more inclusive language throughout. Based on the context I suggested replacing with "uncool", but am open to other alternatives.

I am from what could be considered a member of said 'disability communities', (whom has been called the aforementioned word many times before) and find it offensive when people try and avoid language to not offend me or treat people like me as idiots who can't put words into their respective context.

I fully agree; there isn't any context in their usage here that would imply anything against any specific person. "Dumb" and "lame" are not inherently offensive words, even if they could be used as an insult in certain contexts.

👏 Without context, let's just ban the word from any and every appearance, dictionary included.

People need to understand that context cannot be taken out of the equation.

I agree with the consensus here: language evolves, and 'lame' has a (Merriam-Webster approved) meaning entirely independent of its erstwhile medical usage.

There's a strong case to be made that being overly prescriptive about language has undermined the cause of inclusiveness instead of strengthening it. There are some words that are widely (if not universally) agreed to be offensive and we avoid those, but if we eliminated every word that someone could find offensive there would be no words left, because offense is taken rather than given.
