Using mqtt-nio on Android: Cannot create bootstrap

Hi,
I am trying to use mqtt-nio in a SKIP project, where it is used in iOS and Android. According to swiftpackageindex it is compatible. It compiles (which still amazes me), but I get an error when trying to connect on Android.
MQTTNIO/MQTTConnection.swift:156: Fatal error: Cannot create bootstrap for the supplied EventLoop
The "error" is a precondition failure the getBootstrap function in MQTTConnection runs into. This is because, I assume, both conditional compilation directives (if canImport(Network) and if os(macOS) || os(Linux)) result in "false".
There might be something obvious that I am missing so sorry if this is the case. I would still be thankful if anyone could provide an example of how to setup and configure a client (especially the eventLoopGroupProvider) for Android.

Swift Package Index only tells you whether something compiles on Android. I can look into expanding the compiler directives to include android
